My
name is Russell Goodbourn and I established Design In
Iron in 1994. We work mainly with steel
making everything from a hand forged corkscrew to a
large garden pavilion.
As the
logo infers, our main aim is to incorporate within a design both beauty and functionality.
We enjoy
being presented with your idea or problem and turning it
into an engineering solution or art, or ideally a mix of
both using steel design.
Other
materials such as Lead and Copper can also be
incorporated when requested. For example we replaced the
Weather Vane atop Pulborough Church, that was destroyed
in 1987. |

We have taken
on many obscure projects,
including once being
commissioned to turn a
furniture van into a fully
coach built horse box.
For this we designed and
built a ramp with a
completely unique method of
cantilever support.
